Peeved by the dismal scenario at Adavinekkalam Zilla Parishad High School, District Collector Babu A. gave the school staff a piece of his mind on Thursday.

The Collector, who made a surprise visit to the school, was disturbed by the gloomy picture on the premises. He asked teachers to impart quality education to students and try to improve the strength.

Salaries

He also reminded them that the government had been spending Rs. 58 crore every month towards payment of salaries for Zilla Parishad schools.

Expenditure on students

Since the government has been spending Rs. 2,000 per month on an average on every student, it is the duty of teachers to ensure that they were trained adequately in all subjects.
