CM not keen on session at ANU?

November 19, 2014 12:26 am | Updated November 16, 2021 07:11 pm IST - GUNTUR:

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is believed to be having second thoughts on convening the winter session of the Assembly on the Acharya Nagarjuna University premises.

A day after Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao visited the ANU premises, senior officers of Assembly have told the university authorities to place on hold all works pertaining to the auditorium till “further directions”.

It is now believed that personal astrologers to Mr. Naidu advised him to either carry out extensive changes according to ‘Vaastu Shastra’ or stay away from ANU.

Mr. Naidu has always avoided stepping inside ANU since becoming Chief Minister. On the day of swearing-in-ceremony, Mr. Naidu preferred a private guest house rather than the university, which was already fortified then.

He also avoided ANU on Teacher’s Day celebrations, which were shifted to Guntur in the last minute.

Sources said the H.H. Deichamann Auditorium designed by JNTU, Hyderabad, though has state-of-the-art facilities, has some ‘vaastu’ issues and hence being avoided by those in power.

The stage is facing towards North while the seating arrangement faces the West direction. So, Mr. Naidu’s seat would face West direction, considered not good according to ‘Vaastu’.
