Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu told a delegation of the Joint Action Committee of Employees, Teachers and Workers (JAC), which met him at the Secretariat on Wednesday, that the government had no intention to amend the fundamental and pension rules, stipulate performance indicators and impose the 30 years service rule as speculation had been going around.

He said the government would not do anything that would hurt the employees’ interests. He said the Cabinet meeting scheduled to be held on August 3 would take a decision on the payment of an instalment of DA arrears.

JAC Chairman P. Ashok Babu said in a press release Mr. Naidu had allayed the apprehensions that the employees would be asked to retire on completion of 30 years of service and pension and other service rules would be amended in such a manner that would be detrimental to them.

The CM acknowledged the fact that the third instalment of DA arrears was to be released by now, and said the employees need not be worried about it. Mr. Naidu said the government was not depriving the employees of their dues in spite of the financial crisis which the State was mired in, and that the increased retirement age (60) would be implemented with effect from June 2, 2014.

Another matter the government was seized of was the payment of the Pay Revision Commission arrears, Mr. Naidu said.

N. Chandrasekhar Reddy, I. Venkateswara Rao, M. Kamalakar, Panduranga Prasad, Narasimha Rao, Udaya Bhaskar, N. Sambasiva Rao and K. Srinivas Kumar were among the JAC leaders who called on the CM.
