Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu will reach the Secretariat at Velagapudi near here in an open top jeep on August 26, according to Medical and Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Dr. Srinivas said that Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Ministers and others would welcome Mr. Venkaiah Naidu at Gannavaram airport at 9.10 a.m. The Vice-President would reach the Secretariat premises at 10.40 a.m.

The State government was making all arrangements to host a grand civic reception to him.

Ministers, MLAs, MLCs, industrialists, and others would attend the reception, he said.

The Vice-President would inaugurate a pylon of housing scheme near the Secretariat. Mr. Venkaiah Naidu sanctioned 2.25 houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana while he served as Union Minister for Urban Development, he recalled. Mr. Venkaiah Naidu would leave for Tenali to attend Alapati Venkatramaiah centenary celebrations. He would also inaugurate Thalli-bidda hospital there. Social Welfare Minister Nakka Anand Babu would accompany him there.

The Vice-President would reach Swarna Bharati Trust at Atkur near Gannavaram and inaugurate mega medical camp on Sunday. Doctors from Hyderabad would attend the camp, he said, adding he would leave for Delhi the same day.

To a question, the Minister said that he has no plans to part ways with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and join the Telugu Desam. “I will not leave the BJP till my last breath,” he said.
