Civic chief grabs the broom, demonstrates proper sweeping

Municipal Commissioner J. Nivas who came across a sanitation worker nonchalantly sweeping the road, took the broom and demonstrated the proper way of sweeping.

He was on his early morning ward visit along with local representatives and municipal officials in the 33rd Division.

Finding that markings like zebra lines and road margins were fading out due to improper sweeping of the roads, he took the broom to demonstratethe right way to sweep steadily instead of just loosely brushing the surface.

He directed officials of public health to ensure all sanitation workers were properly trained in sweeping the roads.

‘Expedite works’

He also visited hill-slope areas of Vidyadharapuram, Kummaripalem, Four Pillars centre, Rama Rajya Nagar and other areas.

Mr. Nivas asked authorities to speed up Rythu Bazaar work at Kummaripalem, shelter home work at Rama Rajya Nagar and directed engineering officials to start construction of a retaining wall on the hill area.

Local corporator Harinath Swamy, Deputy EE Ranga Rao and others were present.
