S. Sowjanya Keerthi, student of Maris Stella College, bagged four medals in the recently held ‘Combined Annual Training Camp' for National Cadet Corps (NCC) at S.V Arts College, Tirupati.

The girl was adjudged ‘Best cadet' having secured first position in three categories – health and hygiene, advance shooting and shooting.

The events were held as Tal Sainik Camp (TSC) inter-group competitions.

Ms. Keerthi, who is studying first year B.Sc, is a cadet in the 4 (A) girls battalion. She said on Tuesday that her aim was to serve in the NCC by becoming an administrative officer. She will now participate in the national Tal Sainik Camp scheduled for October in New Delhi.

Maris Stella College Associate NCC Officer B. Shanthi Sri expressed hope that with good support from the college, the cadet will surely win more laurels and awards in her future endeavours.

“We feel very proud of her, as she is the only NCC cadet from the city to have been selected for the national camp,” Lt. Shanthi said.
