Vijayawada candidate gets 84th rank in civil services

In an earlier attempt, Chitturi Ramakrishna got the 257th rank. But, he wanted to become an IAS officer and succeeded in his endeavour, says his father.

Son of a railway employee, Chitturi Ramakrishna, has secured 84th rank in the Civil Services examination-2015. The UPSC announced the results of the examination on Tuesday.

Mr. Ramakrishna’s father Ch. Annavaraprasad works as a Section Engineer in the Signal and Telecom Division of the Vijayawada Division of South Central Railway.

Mr. Annavaraprasad said that they were overwhelmed by the success of Mr. Ramakrishna. It was his life ambition to crack the civil services examination. In an earlier attempt, he got the 257th rank. But, my son wanted to become an IAS officer and succeeded in his endeavour, he said.

He did his studies up to 10th standard at Gudivada in Krishna district and Amali High School at Vijayawada and joined the commercial department of the Railways through the RRB vocational recruitment in 2004.

Mr. Ramakrishna, was among the toppers in the country with 99.94 percentile in CAT and studied in IIM, Ahmedabad.
