Hundreds of people participated in Samata Snanam, holy bath with all, conducted by Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar at Sitanagaram Ghat in Guntur district, near here, on Friday.
The holy bath was conducted as part of ongoing Krishna pushkarams and to commemorate millennium birth anniversary of Ramanujacharya.
The seer conducted the samata snanam to propagate Ramanujacharya's message that “all are equal before God and everyone is equally qualified to receive the grace of God.”
Puja to Kapila cows
The rituals began with puja to Kapila cows followed by puja to Ashwatthama and Thulasi representing Lord Narayana and Lakshmidevi.
Later, the seer performed puja to the river. Abhishekam was performed to Ramanujacharya Swamy. The people took a holy dip along with the seer.
Endowments Minister Manikyala Rao and others were present.
