Chief Minister K. Rosaiah on Sunday inaugurated Haailand, a wholesome entertainment-cum-theme park, located at Chinakakani village abutting NH-5 in Guntur district.
The Chief Minister complimented Agri Gold chairman V.R. Rao Awas for designing the theme park and sounded confident that the park would attract local and international tourists. Mr. Rosaiah, who was taken around the park in a battery car, exclaimed that he was getting a feeling of being transported into a different world. The park has good ambiance, plenty of entertainment and quality food stalls. The Chief Minister said that the State government had embarked on a mission to promote tourism in the State. The State was primarily an agricultural State, but it had immense tourist potential, he said and added the park was developed with cooperation from the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation. Union Minister of State for Textiles Panabaka Lakshmi said that the park inaugurated on Mother's Day would be the best of leisure facilities to families.
The Agri Gold chairman said that apart from world class entertainment and water sports facilities, the Arka Leisure and Entertainment (P) Limited, a subsidiary of Agri Gold group, would run weekly Buddhist circuit tours covering about 142 Buddhist sites in Guntur and Krishna districts. Besides, the theme park offers a unique shopping experience with a range of garments from various South Asian countries. The park, built on a sprawling premises of 42 acres, has an all pervasive Buddhist feel and has seven zones, each zone named after a prominent East Asian countries. The evening had its splash of cultural programmes with artistes performing classical and western dances.
