: The State government appointed celebrated spiritual guru Chaganti Koteswara Rao as government cultural and development adviser, here on Friday.
The government felicitated Mr. Koteswara Rao and conferred the Kalaratna-Hamsa award on him as part of the Ugadi celebrations.
Impressed by his talk on ‘hard work,’ Mr. Naidu took an impromptu decision of appointing him as advisor. “I was doubtful whether he would accept my offer. I am happy that he agreed to it. He will assume office on Saturday,” he said.
‘Hard work pays’
Earlier, Mr. Koteswara Rao said that hard work always pays. No planet would dare to come in the way if one works with determination and dedication. The objective should be one for everyone and everyone for one, he said. Noted almanac writer Srinivasa Gargeya, earlier, read out the Durmukhi panchagam.
He said that the rains would be sufficient though there would be a delay in the South West monsoon.
Felicitation
The Durmukhi year was a blessing year for every one. Krishna Pushkarams and Varalakshmi Vratam begin on same day on August 12.
The year also witnesses Mahati yogam —the moon appears in biggest from 5.36 p.m. to 7.22 p.m. on November 14, he said.
The Chief Minister also felicitated cine actor of yesteryear Kanchana and others with Kalaratna-Hamsa awards.
