Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Polit Bureau member K. Yerrannaidu at a press conference here on Saturday said that the Sri Krishna Committee gave a comprehensive report on the Telangana issue and the Central government was bound to take action on it.
It was instead planning to convene an all-party meeting on the issue bowing to pressures from some quarters, he alleged.
Terming all-party meeting inappropriate, he said that people of Andhra and Rayalaseema were for united Andhra Pradesh.
Referring to YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy's speech at the party plenary on Saturday, Mr. Naidu sought to know with which party he would sail with if he were to realise his ambition of sharing power at the Centre.
“As reported in the media, will he join hands with the BJP or the Congress?” he wondered. TDP MP and Polit Bureau member M. V. Mysoora Reddy said that uncertainty was prevailing in the State with divisive politics ruling the roost. The Congress could not even resolve the resignations' issue.
The Congress should find a way out to the problem as future of the State was at stake. The State would progress only if it was united, he said, adding: “the sentiments of Seemandhra should be respected .”
Open debate
Mylavaram MLA and TDP district president Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said that the TDP was ready for open debate proposed by Secondary Education Minister K. Parthasartdhy.
The Minister should convene District Review Committtee (DRC) meeting if he was confident of development in the district, he said.
The Minister hardly attended DRC and ZP meetings, he alleged.
The Minister was scared of media and cameras. If he were ready for an open discussion, let him convene the DRC meeting and allow media to report it, he said. The Minister on Friday had accepted the challenge of the TDP leader.
The TDP was ready to discuss the corruption and irregularities in the district. MLC Y. Babu Rajendraprasad and former mayor P. Anuradha were present.
