Sleuths of Central investigating agencies are reportedly searching for SIMI activists who escaped soon after the encounter in Telangana State (TS) a few days ago.

Three policemen were shot dead, and two activists of Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) were gunned down by Telangana State (TS) police during search operations later. Police of A.P. and TS have since kept a vigil over the movement of SIMI activists.  According to CCTV footage, police suspect that three other activists are holed up in Andhra Pradesh or TS, and launched hunt for them. Police kept a vigil on bus and railway stations and lodges in Krishna district.  Officials of Intelligence Bureau and other agencies are participating in the search operations along with the local officers. Police are holding meetings with State and Central Intelligence authorities to maintain security at vulnerable places.  Police are conducting searches in trains, bus stations and other public places to identify the suspects. Patrolling has been intensified on the national and state highways and police are checking vehicles on State borders.  At a meeting held recently, police asked the Railway Protection Force and Government Railway Police to keep a tab on movements of suspects.

After we received an alert from the Central investigating agencies we cautioned the officers of different wings, particularly those dealing with terrorist activities. Security has been beefed up on TS border
