Call to use bicycles every Friday

Students, members of Walkers' Association, and Municipal Commissioner participate in bicycle rally

Students of various schools and colleges, members of Walkers Association participated in a bicycle rally along with Municipal Commissioner G. Ravi Babu, in connection with ‘Cycle Day', on Friday.

The rally was aimed at creating awareness among the public on use of bicycles, prevention of pollution and traffic on roads and maintaining good health.

Mr. Ravi Babu inaugurated the rally at N.T.R. Circle (in Patamata) and passed through High School and Panta Kaluva Roads. Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner called upon the public to use bicycles every Friday to keep good health.

Ten-day cycle rally

Members of Association of Active Bicyclers in association with Youth Welfare Department, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan and the Municipal Corporation will organise a 10-day cycle rally from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, to Hyderabad, from March 19 to 28, said the association general secretary V. Satyanarayana.

The rally will pass through Sattenapalli, Dachepalli, Miryalguda, Nalgonda, Choutuppal, L.B. Nagar and reach Hyderabad. Interested candidates are requested to register their names by calling over phone No.94409-78939, before March 15, he said.
