Buddha Jayanti celebrations tomorrow

The Cultural Centre of Vijayawada (CCV) will organise the 2559th Buddha Jayanti Day Celebrations at the Madhu Malaxmi Chambers at Mogalrajpuram on May 4 at 9 a.m. The Centre will also organise a special exhibition of Buddhist paintings and sculpture from May 4 to 6.

At the exhibition, Buddhist paintings by Regulla Mallikarjuna Rao (Amaravathi Dhyana Buddha Sculptor) and Buddhist Sculpture by D Hariprasad (Artmorf, Allagadda) will be on display according to Centre’s Chief Executive Officer E. Sivanagi Reddy.

While Krishna district Collector Babu Ahmed will participate as Chief Guest, VMC Commissioner G. Veerapandian and Sitarammaa of Centre for Mahayana Buddhist Studies, ANU, will participate as Guests of Honour, he said.
