BSNL CGM launches Bharat-1 Plan in State

Package includes smart phone, SIM, at ₹2,220 with unlimited calls and data for ₹97 per month

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Andhra Pradesh Circle, Chief General Manager (CGM), A. Purnachandra Rao, launched the Bharat-1 plan in the State on Tuesday.

Under the new plan, the BSNL will offer a dual SIM smart phone, SIM card for ₹97 per month, with unlimited calls to any network and data, for ₹2,220. The plan is valid for one year, the Chief General Manager said.

“The BSNL entered into a tie-up with Mircomax company to offer the plan to our customers. The smartphone will have 4G compatibility and is available with retail sellers and in Micromax showrooms,” Mr. Purnachandra Rao said.

As part of the inauguration of the plan, he handed over the first mobile phone under the Bharat-1 plan to Canara Bank Patamata Senior Manger V. Shyam Babu, at the BSNL office here.“The plan was launched across the country and 9,353 phones were allotted to the State, and the customer can buy it for ₹2,220 by submitting the Aadhaar number and the finger print,” the CGM said.

Compared to the private mobile operators, the BSNL is offering the Bharat-1 plan at lesser price. The new plan will be much useful for students, low and middle class groups, Principal General Managers N.S. Ropia and M. John Chrisostam said.

Senior GM Durga Rani, GMs Y. Ravindranath, Ravi Kumar and A. Venkateswara Rao, DGMs and other officers participated.
