A ballot on the implementation of Lokpal Bill was conducted by South Central Railway Mazdoor Union and Paura Samajika Vedika at the Railway Institute here on Monday.
A large number of railway employees and workers participated in the ballot. They supported the demand for bringing the Prime Minister under the purview of Lokpal Bill and also CBI, CVC and other key officials. Paura Samajika Vedika member Saiyad Rafi said every citizen should support Anna Hazare's movement against corruption.Youth and women's wings were formally launched under Railway Mazdoor Union. Its chief coordinator Ch. Sankara Rao said due to privatisation people were deprived of many basic benefits.
The responsibility of creating awareness on these issues was on youth, he added. Divisional coordinator Mr. Charan said youth leadership was being strongly supported and also a separate women's association was also started to improve women's participation in the union.
Divisional branch coordinator Yugandhar, zonal youth coordinator Balakrishna Reddy, HMS youth wing national coordinator Rajendra Giri, and zonal chief coordinator Arundhati took part in the programme.
