The volunteers of ‘Bring back Babu’ campaign took out an impressive rally from NTR Circle to PWD Grounds here on Sunday spreading the message that TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu was the best bet for development of the State.
Banners and buntings of the campaign were put up at important locations and the volunteers carried placards with eye-catching phrases in praise of Mr. Naidu’s administrative capabilities and leadership. The jingle---Bring Babu Back---in fast music was an added attraction of the campaign.
Social mediaOn the occasion, volunteer Chaganti Satish said the campaign was started on Facebook on May 28 last. As many as 76,000 people liked it and the count was going on. The idea was to use the social media as a tool to create awareness on Mr. Naidu’s leadership among the public. In view of the response to the social media campaign, the campaign on streets took a shape, he said.
‘Paint the city yellow’ and ‘Stand up and Walk for Babu’ were some of the programmes conceived, he said, adding, as part of the campaign, the volunteers would visit places where people gather to discuss issues of common interests. “For instance, they go to Siddhartha College or Loyola College grounds were walkers gather regularly. We will explain our stand without any arguments,” he said.
The volunteers were hopeful that their efforts would successfully spread the message among the youth especially the first time voters. Messages highlighting the advantages of voting for Mr. Naidu would be the added attraction.
The volunteers are neither TDP workers nor leaders but only supporting Mr. Chandrababu for better development as he had already proved his mettle by developing Hyderabad as the world class city.
