Rajadhani Express with ads of the telecom operator accorded grand welcome
The BSNL-branded Chennai-bound Rajadhani Express arrived here on Saturday, sporting brightly coloured logos and advertisements of the State-run telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). Officials and employees of the BSNL Krishna Telecom gave an impressive welcome to the BSNL-branded train.
As the train arrived on platform number 1 at the Vijayawada Railway Station, it grabbed the attention of all passengers, onlookers and employees there.
Information was provided in ads and posters painted on all coaches of the train as part of the BSNL tie-up with the Indian Railways to use the train to publicise its existing and latest products.
BSNL Chairman and Managing Director Kuldeep Goyal flagged off the branded train earlier, which was the first instance that the BSNL was using the services of the Railways to promote its products, especially the most recent 3G services.
BSNL General Manager (Krishna telecom) M. John Chrisostom, who led the employees and officials in a rally from BSNL Bhavan to the railway station to welcome the train, said that the innovative tie-up with the Railways would help push the BSNL products at a higher pace into the public.
BSNL DGM Ravindranath and others were present on the occasion.
