Both BJP, TDP deceiving people: YSRC

July 05, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:52 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

The Bharatiya Janata Party and its electoral ally the Telugu Desam are trying to divert the public attention from more important issues with the demolition of Hindu shrines and removal of idols for road development, alleged the YSR Congress corporators here on Monday.

Addressing a press conference, YSRC floor leader in the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Bandi Punyasila said that idols were being removed or broken with little regard for the public opinion.

She said a lot of unnecessary things were being done in the name of Krishna Pushkarams. But what matters most was not being done.

Though it was essential, no VIP bathing ghat was being created. The absence of a VIP ghat would create a great deal of inconvenience to the general public, she said and demanded that a VIP ghat be created.
