Botcha for Delhi to update high command

Reasons for sacking DL are internal matters of the party, he says

June 03, 2013 02:56 pm | Updated 02:56 pm IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president Botcha Satyanarayana said that he will update the party high command on the need for the sacking Minister D.L. Ravindra Reddy and the defection of two Congress MPs to the Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS).

Mr. Satyanarayana, who was here to participate in a few programmes on Sunday, addressing a press conference at Andhra Ratna Bhavan, the city Congress office, said that the two developments were unfortunate and sad. Answering queries he said that he was aware of the decision to sack the Minister.

The reasons for his sacking were internal matters of the party and he would therefore not make them public, he observed.

The reasons for which the Ministers were sacked would be conveyed to the party high command.

The PCC chief was asked to come to New Delhi as soon as possible by the party high command.

The PCC president said that the defection of two MPs to the TRS at this juncture was sad because the Congress party was leaving no stone unturned to resolve the “delicate” Telangana problem. The AICC leader in-charge of Andhra Pradesh Gulam Nabi Azad was scheduled to have a meeting even on Sunday to resolve the problem.

Mr. Satyanarayana said that the resolutions and statements the TDP leaders made in the party’s Mahanadu were both baseless and ridiculous.

The YSR Congress Party was yet another regional party, he said and added it that was not unable to find a decent name for itself and the TRS was just trying to cash in on sentiments.

These parties were no match to the Congress that was extending several welfare measures.

The party was responsive enough to continuously resolve the problems of all sections of people, he said.
