The body Samineni. Naresh who died under suspicious circumstances at Kent in the UK on March 13, will be handed over to his distant relative and representatives of the local Telugu association on Friday evening as per local timings.
A native of Mittagudem in Gampalagudem mandal in Krishna district, Naresh was believed to have been killed in a train accident at 8.30 p.m. (local time) on March 13 near the Kent Town railway station.
He has been residing in Gravesend, Kent Town for the last three to four years.
On learning of the death of Naresh, which reached his village only on Wednesday, MP Lagadapati Rajagopal on Thursday addressed letters to Nalin Surie, the Indian High Commissioner in the UK, Minister for External Affairs S.M. Krishna and the AP Minister for NRI Affairs D. Sridhar Babu, seeking help in getting the body to India.
Rajagopal Foundation chief executive officer and former Mayor Jandhyala Sankar spoke to the officials of the British Transport Police and the Coroner's Office and they assured him to hand over the body to Chirumamilla Ravi, a relative of Naresh, and the Telugu Association, by Friday evening. The Telugu Association would bear the cost of transportation of the body to Hyderabad, Mr. Sankar said.
Mr. Rajagopal said in his letter to Mr. Krishna that Naresh “committed suicide by falling under a running train”, as “he could not get extension visa from the university.”
