The BJP leadership has stressed the need to explain what the party has done for Andhra Pradesh in the last two years to earn people’s confidence to grow as an ‘alternative force’ for the 2019 elections.

At the two-day State executive committee meeting that concluded in Bhimavaram on Saturday, party’s national secretary and A.P. affairs in charge Sidharth Nath Singh and joint general secretary V. Satish expressed confidence that the party’s performance would help it grow in A.P. and being an ally of the ruling TDP, it had no difficulty in gradually expanding its support base. BJP district president B. Srinivasa Varma told The Hindu that the development and welfare schemes introduced by the Narendra Modi Government were discussed and it had been resolved to scuttle the vicious campaign unleashed by rivals.

BJP State president K. Haribabu (Visakhapatnam MP), Narsapuram MP Gokaraju Gangaraju, Ministers Kamineni Srinivas and P. Manikyala Rao, MLC Somu Veerraju and MLAs Akula Satyanarayana and Vishnu Kumar Raju were among those present.
