BJP Mahila Morcha State executive member K. Nagalakshmi demanded that the Congress leaders who made objectionable remarks against Union Minister for Urban Development M. Venkaiah Naidu in the Parliament tender an apology.

Some Congress leaders have reportedly suggested that Mr. Venkaiah Naidu should ‘wear bangles’ for failing to deliver the slew of promises that he made for development of the new State of Andhra Pradesh and on various other issues concerning his ministry.

The comment that Mr. Naidu should ‘wear bangles and sit at home’ was making a mockery of women, Ms. Nagalakshmi said in the Mahila Morcha meeting held in the city on Tuesday. If the Congress leaders stand on their intemperate remarks, members of the BJP Mahila Morcha would stage protests outside their offices and residences, she warned. Another State executive member K. Ramani hailed allocation of Rs 1,000 crore for Nirbhaya Fund .
