M. Bhanu Kiran, the prime accused in Maddelacheruvu Suryanarayana Reddy alias Suri’s murder, was produced before the III Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate K. Jaya Kumar here on Friday in Annapurna Packaging Industries (API) case. He was remanded till June 5, according to official sources.

Charges of criminal trespass, intimidation and conspiracy were framed on Kiran under Sections 120-B, 448 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code on the basis of a complaint lodged by V. Syam Prasad of API on November 23, 2010.

Mr. Prasad was reportedly involved in a dispute with his brother Krishna Prasad over Annapurna Packaging and he complained that Kiran interfered in it and threatened him with dire consequences if he did not listen to his advice.

Kiran had also allegedly acquired shares in the company (situated at Enikepadu) by deceitful means and started dictating terms.

When Kiran was brought to the city court on Friday, a security blanket was thrown around it to avoid any untoward incident.
