Bhanu produced in city court

M. Bhanu Kiran, prime accused in the murder of Maddelacheruvu Suryanarayana Reddy alias Suri, was produced before III Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (in-charge) K. Sivaramakrishna here on Friday for filing of a counter in Annapurna Packaging Industries (API) case. However, Bhanu Kiran could not file the counter and was ordered by the judge to complete the formality on Saturday (May 31).

Bhanu Kiran is on remand at Cherlapalli jail in Hyderabad till June 5. He is facing charges of criminal trespass, intimidation and conspiracy under Sections 120-B, 448 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code on the basis of a complaint lodged by V. Syam Prasad of API on November 23, 2010 with regard to a dispute over the company (API) affairs.

Regarding the CID plea seeking six-day custody of Bhanu Kiran, Mr. Sivaramakrishna said it could be considered after the counter was filed by his lawyer.
