Here is some good news for folks who wish to attend World Telugu Conference (WTC) in Tirupati.

The most sought-after traditional sweet - Bandar Laddu - will be sold during the three-day conference at the venue.

The WTC organising committee has allotted an exclusive outlet for Mallaiah Sweets of Machilipatnam, the maker of the sweet, said stall proprietor Goura Venkateswara Rao, at a press conference here on Monday.

Delicacy

“My family is into the making of the delicacy out of Besan (Senagapindi) and sugar juice for the past 50 years known worldwide. For the benefit of the delegates attending the mega event, we sought permission and the Government has responded positively.

We are selling this delicacy under ‘ Sampradaya Ruchulu’ category,” said Mr. Rao.

He said that fresh stocks will be sold on all three days – from December 27 to 29 and the product, prepared at Machilipatnam will be transported to the venue in separate vehicles every day, he said.

‘Unique taste’

“I hope the delegates will extend their patronage to the world renowned sweet and relish its unique taste,” he added.
