In wake of the spurt in robberies in jewellery showrooms, police are taking steps to caution the jewel shop owners and the public to prevent thefts.

Assistant Sub-Inspector, K. Srihari, attached to Clues Team, is making a short film on prevention of crimes at a jewel showroom at Brodipet.

Superintendent of Police, Guntur Urban, Gopinath Jatty said that the documentary was aimed at creating awareness among the traders and public on different modus operandi being followed by robber gangs to loot the shops. Mr. Srihari said the film would be on security at shops, identifying the movements of suspects, precautions to be taken at different points, attention diversion gangs and other aspects. He had earlier made two documentaries on prevention of HIV/AIDS and a documentary on thefts in Autorickshaws, is now wielding the camera again to film a documentary on thefts near the banks.
