“It does not matter where you study, if you have the will power to work hard, you will succeed in life,” State Revenue Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy told students at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium here on Saturday.
Scholarships were distributed to 430 meritorious students and school kits to over 4,000 kids studying in Municipal Schools in Vijayawada by the Lanco Foundation. Each student was given an amount of Rs.5,000 for the purpose of education and a school kit which consisted of a school bag, geometry box and a 100-page notebook.
The Lanco Group Chairman and Vijayawada Member of Parliament Lagadapati Rajagopal said that though municipal schools are criticised for not having proper infrastructure these kids were working hard and coming out in flying colours in academics. He asked the students to “Not just take the school kits and leave but also work hard to get the highest mark this academic year”.
