Telugu Desam Party stood second in nine constituencies, says Umamaheswara Rao

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has stated that by-elections results give an impression that the Congress and YSR Congress had a match fixing.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Mylavaram MLA and TDP district president Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said the TDP stood in second position in nine Assembly seats despite the match fixing. As many as 7.5 lakh people voted for the TDP. The TDP succeeded in awakening the people on corruption in the government and by the YSR Congress, he said.

The Congress and YSR Congress worked hand in glove in installing the YSR statues across the State. The corruption of former chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and his son Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy did not see the light as long the booty was shared for five years. Eight Cabinet Ministers, who signed the 26 controversial GOs, were moving freely. YSR Congress reaped harvest out it, he said.

The TDP would continue its endeavours in creating awareness among the public and prepare for 2014 general elections, he added. Vijayawada (West) incharge Buddha Venkanna was also present.
