SPDCL implementing a load relief of 4 lakh units per day for industries

The increase in one-hour power cut for domestic sector has not resolved the power shortage crisis in Krishna district. Unable to meet the demand for power, the SPDCL has brought the non-continuous process industries, including cotton, spinning, and textile industries, into the power holiday cauldron.

A two-day power holiday in a week with peak load restrictions has come into force from Friday.

The division- wise power holiday for non-continuous process industries is: town division (Sunday and Monday), Gunadala division (Sunday, Monday), rural division (Tuesday, Wednesday), Nuzvid division (Wednesday, Thursday), Gudivada division (Thursday, Friday), Vuyyuru (Saturday, Sunday), and Machilipatnam division (Saturday, Sunday).

The continuous process industries are already experiencing the 12-day power holiday per month. All continuous process industries will have to utilise only 60 per cent of normal utilisation demand continuously during the month except during the peak load period.

The SPDCL has been implementing a load relief of 4 lakh units per day for industries. Nearly 30 to 40 per cent of the allocated power is consumed by the industries.
