Telemedicine is going to help patients who have undergone laser treatment for their eyes to undergo post-operational checks without leaving their homes.

Sandhya Hi-Tech Vision Care Hospital chief ophthalmologist M.N.Raju addressing a press conference here on Tuesday said that telemedicine was being used for the first time in an eye hospital in the state.

Telemedicine was coming in very handy to make routine checks and advice patients about the care they should take. It would reduce the wastage of time, money and effort, Dr Raju said.

The telemedicine services were formally launched at the Sandhya Hitech Vision Care Centre by Acharya Nagarjuna University vice-chancellor K.Vinanna Rao
