Arrangements in place for ZPTC/MPTC elections

The district administration has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of ZPTC and MPTC phase-II elections in Gudivada and Nuzvid divisions in the district. Elections will be held on Friday, and voters can cast their votes from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The authorities have identified 152 sensitive and 123 hyper sensitive polling centres in these divisions. As a precautionary measure, live web casting arrangements have been made at these centres, besides deploying micro observers to monitor the polling process.

There are 1230 polling stations and about 9,36, 252 voters would franchise their votes. Of the 23 ZPTC and 363 MPTC posts in both the divisions, nine MPTC’s have been elected unanimously.

While, 27 candidates are contesting for the nine ZPTC posts and 309 candidates are in fray for the 129 MPTC posts in Gudivada division. Similarly, 51 candidates are contesting for the 14 ZPTC posts and 610 candidates for 234 MPTC posts in Nuzvid division, said a press release.
