Arogyasri suspends Usha Cardiac Centre, Vijayawada

July 03, 2014 12:25 am | Updated 12:25 am IST - HYDERABAD:

The Empanelment and Disciplinary Committee (EDC) of Arogyasri Health Care Trust has placed Usha Cardiac Centre, Vijayawada under suspension from Arogyasri scheme. The move to suspend was taken on the grounds of deficiency of service on the part of the Cardiac Centre while treating one Arogyasri beneficiary Revu Susheela, who died in the hospital on April 3, 2012.

The Arogyasri officials said that the Cardiac centre did not have mandatory in-house requirements like X-ray, scanning and other basic diagnostic and lab services. The heart facility also did not have the mandatory NOC certificate from the Fire department and the trade license to remain operational, Arogyasri officials said.

A team of senior officials from Arogyasri, who inspected the facility in Vijayawada, found out that there was severe shortage of manpower, which was claimed otherwise by the hospital.
