Kadapa District Collector T. Babu Rao Naidu and Guntur Army Recruiting Officer Col. S.V. Karande on Monday released the notification for Army recruitment rally for youth of seven districts, slated in Kadapa municipal stadium from January 3, 2018.

The Army Recruitment Office at Guntur would recruit four categories of soldiers — general duty, technical, religious teacher and tradesmen — from among the applicants of Kadapa, Anantapur, Chittoor, Kurnool, Nellore, Ongole and Guntur in the rally slated in Kadapa from January 3 to 13, the Collector told the media through video-conferencing.

Interested candidates should apply online on websites – www.joinindianarmy.nic.in or www.ap.nic.in - between November 19 and December 18. Applicants would be issued admit cards online from December 22, Mr. Naidu said.

Mock recruitment

A mock recruitment would be conducted before Christmas to create awareness among youth on dos and dont’s in the recruitment process, he added. The candidates can clarify their doubts by contacting the Society for Employment and Training Promotion (STEP) office in Kadapa on telephone number 08562 – 241617, he added.

Guntur Army Recruiting Officer Col. S.V. Karande said the recruitment would be conducted in a fair and transparent manner, without the scope for middlemen and advised youth to be wary about it. The candidates aged between 17 1/2 years and 23 years were eligible to apply. They should attend verification of certificates, physical fitness and body measurements on stipulated dates mentioned in their admit cards.

Candidates not registering online would not be permitted at any cost and they should attend with the admit card, copies of their application, educational certificates, personal details, permanent address, PIN number, nativity certificates, Aadhar and PAN cards on dates assigned to them, Col. Karande said. Those passing medical tests would be permitted to attend further exams, he added.

Candidates of all categories would have a 1.6 km running race and those in Group I should complete it in 5 minutes and 30 seconds and those in Group II in five minutes 45 seconds, Col. Karande said. They should do at least six pull-ups, jump across a nine-foot trench, walk with balance on a rod, besides having the prescribed physical measurements. Further details can be had by contacting 0863 2230008. CEO of STEP Mamatha, Subedar Major Arvind Singh and Havaldar Bappan Mandal were present.
