April 25, 2013 03:38 pm | Updated 03:43 pm IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy varla Devastanam will hike the arjita seva ticket fare soon.

The ‘annaprasana’, first feed to baby, will cost Rs.300 as against existing Rs.5. Likewise, the ‘namakaram’, naming of the newborn baby, and ‘aksharabhyasam’, introduction of alphabet, will also cost Rs.300.

Hitherto, it is just Rs.5. To nuptial ceremony ticket has been doubled, and now costs Rs.200. If the ‘couple to be wedded’ has plans for a videography of their marriage, they have to shell out another Rs. 700.

The temple has plans to jack up the ticket fare of arjita sevas as well. The chandi homam ticket will cost Rs.1,116, while it is just Rs.516 now. The ‘laksha kumkum archana’ will be much dearer. The devotee will have to pay Rs.2,116. Hitherto, it is just Rs. 1,000. The tickets of Sri Chakra Navarchana, Santi Kalyanam, which cost Rs. 516, have been jacked up to Rs. 1,116.
