The NTPC BHEL Power Projects Pvt Ltd, joint venture of Maharatna public sector undertakings NTPC and BHEL, has entered into a memorandum of understanding for supply of spare parts of coal handling, ash handling plants and other balance of plant requirements with the AP Power Generation Corporation (APGenco).

Joint venture

NBPPL director (operation) A.B. Ravichandran signed the MoU on behalf of the joint venture while APGenco chief engineer (generation) Sunder Singh was the signatory for the public sector power generation company.

The joint venture had earlier entered into a similar agreement with the NPTC for supply of spare parts for the latter’s power plants.

APGenco chairman and managing director K. Vijayanand described the MoU as win-win agreement between the two organisations.

The MoU would enable speedy arrangement of spare parts required by the APGenco power plants and this would, in turn, minimise forced outages of power plants.

Recalling the APGenco’s association with the NTPC and the BHEL, Mr. Vijayanand stressed the need for the two entities to join hands in future too to achieve more targets in power sector.
