APCOST to host Summer Science Festival

The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Science and Technology, Regional Science Centre, Vijayawada, will organise ‘Summer Science Festival’ for children aged between 11 and 15 years, from May 19 to June 6, 2014.

Department of Science and Technology has sanctioned one Satellite Interactive Terminal (SIT) to APCOST here for telecasting EduSAT network activities. The special feature of EduSAT is that the participants can interact with scientists and specialists and take up sessions on various topics, said SIT Project Director and APCOST Regional Science Centre Officer In-charge J. Dhilleswara Rao.

Programmes will be conducted from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Monday, and from 10.30 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the rest of the days.

Titles of the programmes are Hand on math, Aerodynamics, Fun with life science, Creative science writing, Adolescent health and World of radio communication. Students are requested to contact over phone Nos. 0866-2414161 or 2414168 for registrations, said Mr. Rao.
