Emulating Maharashtra, the Andhra Pradesh government is inviting corporate companies to adopt more than two lakh hectares and increase productivity based on their suggestions and advanced farming practices.

This facility, being extended to agriculture and allied fields also, is likely to be launched by the next kharif season. Plans are also being made to establish mobile soil testing labs in association with private companies.

The government had a meeting with 42 national and international corporate companies at Vizag on Friday. The companies had assured investments to the tune of Rs.400 crore towards training the farmers besides taking suitable measures, said Agriculture Minister Pratipati Pulla Rao here on Saturday.

This model is successfully implemented in Maharashtra using 5 lakh hectares.
