Medical student, Sanagasetty Jayakiran, who was missing from Vigan City in Philippines, is safe. He spoke to his family members and is attending classes.
Jayakiran, who is pursuing third year medicine in University of Northern Philippines, was missing since September 11.
Following a complaint, the Philippines police registered a ‘missing case’ and launched a search.
The student’s mother Adilakshmi and sister Vijaya Durga, natives of Shivalayam Street, Satyanarayapuram in Vijayawada, met City Police Commissioner N. Madhusudhan Reddy on September 18 and sought his help in tracing the boy.
Meanwhile, Jayakiran responded over phone and had passed information stating that he is well. His father S. Ravi Kumar is travelling to Philippines on Saturday.
Speaking to The Hindu, Vijaya Durga said Jayakiran left his room to meet his friend, who stays at Manila.
He lost his purse and mobile phone in the journey and was not in contact with his friends and family for 15 days.
“With the help of some locals, Jayakiran returned to Vigan City and contacted us on September 26. He said that he is doing well and not to worry”, said Vijaya Durga and expressed happiness over the good news.
