Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas said no examinations conducted by Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) in August would be postponed due to the Krishna Pushkarams. The schedule of web-based counselling for MBBS and BDS courses (August 6 to 8) was also intact, he stated and dismissed reports that there was a question paper leak in AP-EAMCET-2016.
Addressing a press conference at Andhra Hospitals here on Friday, Mr. Srinivas said that no irregularity was committed in the conduct of AP-EAMCET which was written by over 90,000 candidates.
As far as the MBBS and other term examinations are concerned, necessary help would be extended to candidates in Vijayawada in reaching the test centres keeping the possibility of Krishna Pushkaram causing any problems in view.
Mr. Srinivas welcomed the Clinical Specialists In-Sourcing Policy that was cleared by the State government on Friday and said that enrolments for it would be done in March and September. Those willing to spare their time for rendering their services could approach a special purpose being opened at the office of the Directorate of Medical Education, which will empanel the requirements of specialists in teaching and district hospitals and facilities covered by NTR Vaidya Seva scheme.
Mr. Srinivas announced that the Andhra Hospitals and UK-based charity organisation ‘Healing Little Hearts’ (HLH) were jointly conducting a free adult and paediatric cardiology screening camp at Swarna Bharat Trust at Atkur from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on August 7.
Children requiring surgeries would be operated at the Andhra Hospitals’ Heart and Brain Institute in Vijayawada from August 8 to 13. An 11-member team of HLH would do the surgeries.
Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu would be the chief guest at the inaugural function of the screening camp scheduled for August 7.
