Upset with the party for the raw deal meted out to her husband and Vijayawada East constituency aspirant Gadde Ramamohana Rao

Gadde Anuradha, Telugu Desam Party candidate for ZPTC chairperson post, is all set to leave the party following the raw deal meted out to her husband Gadde Ramamohana Rao by not considering him for the Vijayawada East constituency. She will withdraw her nomination on Monday.

According to sources, Ms. Anuradha has decided to quit as there were “feelers” that the party might not consider her husband’s candidature for Vijayawada (East). “She feels that her husband’s services were not recognised. This is not the first time that Gadde was let down by the party president Chandrababu Naidu. Hence, she has decided to opt out of the race,” sources say.

Upset with the party

Ms. Anuradha, an entrepreneur, was unhappy with the party think tank for linking the ZPTC to Vijayawada (East). “They should treat both as different elections.”

Even though the party leaders asked her to file the nomination first with the promise to ‘settle’ the Vijayawada East issue later, she is keen on withdrawing it.

Ms. Anuradha’s withdrawal is all set have an impact on the prospects of TDP as rival YSRC candidate Tatineni Padmavathi, who had served as ZP vice-chairperson in the past, is considered a strong candidate. Both Ms. Padmavathi and Ms. Anuradha hail from the same community and have their own clout.
