On the heels of K. Jagadeeshwara Reddy, a Chennai-based Telugu native entering the fray against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa as an independent candidate from R.K. Nagar Assembly constituency, one more Telugu man has entered the fray in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections and his kith and kin are here to seek support of the ‘Telugus’. An Andhra Loyola College alumnus, V. Vijayakrishna, who was born and brought up in Vijayawada, has entered the fray as Shiv Sena candidate from Mylapore Assembly constituency. He is the son of popular city mimicry artiste Chandu.

“My son is an academician and he is into the social service activities in a committed manner. With the blessing of Sena president Uddhav Thackeray and Tamil Nadu Sena leader G. Radhakrishnan, he is contesting the elections from Mylapore where the Telugu population is in good number,” said the independent candidate’s mother Haridurga Devi.
