Andhra Rashtra Kapu Nadu has decided to extend support to YSRC candidates during the general elections.
“We want to support YSRC for giving 40 Assembly seats and six MP seats for kapus. We will also work in support of candidates from the community contesting from other parties,” the organisation president Pilla Venkateswara Rao told reporters here on Friday. He reminded that former Chief Minister late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy sanctioned Rs.32 crore for giving scholarships to students and also promised to allocate two acre land for construction of a guesthouse for students in Hyderabad.
He said as many as 1.75 crore community members would be casting their votes in Seemandhra region this time. City president S. Srinivas Rao criticised the Congress and TDP for failing to allocate more tickets to the community members. The association would continue to work for the welfare of kapus, he added.
