Andhra Joint Action Committee president Sunkara Krishna Murthy on Saturday thanked the Telangana leaders for putting off the rail roko agitation to October 12, 13, and 14.

In a release, Mr. Murthy said his talks with Telangana Joint Action Committee president Kodandaram ended in a fruitful manner as he explained the leader the difficulties faced by the common people owing to the stir.

“The proposed rail roko will hamper the travel plans of many who wish to join duty after Dasara holidays. If they fail to turn up, their careers will be in jeopardy,” he added.

Mr. Murthy thanked TRS chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao and Telangana legal cell chief Upendra for heeding to the request of the Andhra JAC.

He said Andhra JAC would oppose any person or institution that harmed the welfare of the people of the region. “We will go to any extent to protect the interests of the people of the Andhra region and we are ready for any sacrifices,” he said.
