All arrangements have been made for the conduct of EAMCET-2013 at 72 centres in Krishna dstrict – 45 engineering and 27 for mdicine and agriculture.
The number of candidates registering for engineering test in the Vijayawada region has been gradually declining, but there is a two-fold increase in the number of candidates registering for agriculture and medicine test in the past four years.
Timings
The number of candidates that registered for agriculture and medicine test in the region increased from 5,955 in 2010 to 14,148 this year. The number of candidates who registered for engineering test decreased from 28, 599 in 2010 to 23,748 this year.
This may be because the corporate colleges that give coaching for EAMCET in the Vijayawada region were getting better results for the medical test.
According to a press release by the EAMCET-2013 regional coordinator G. Samba Siva Rao no candidates would be allowed to enter the examination hall after 10 a.m. for engineering test and 2.30 p.m. for agriculture and medicine test.
Similarly, no candidates would be allowed to leave the examination halls before 1 p.m. for engineering tests and 5.30 p.m. for agriculture and medical test. Candidates will be permitted to enter the examination hall at 9.15 a.m. for engineering test and 1.45 p.m. for the agriculture and medical test.
He said that mobile phone jammers have been installed at problematic centres. Candidates taking EAMCET would have to affix their fingerprints on the attendance / nominal sheets. These fingerprints would be tallied at the time of admission.
Meanwhile, EAMCET will be conducted at six centres in Machilipatnam region, said Regional Co-ordinator and The Hindu College Principal V. Usha Rani.
Speaking to newsmen in Machilipatnam on Thursday, Ms. Usha Rani said that 3,047 candidates were allotted six centres in the region. Among them, 388 candidates applied for medicine category and examination will be conducted at The Hindu College, Machilipatnam for them.
Satya Sai Seva Samiti
The Sri Satya Sai Seva Samiti, Vijayawada unit, will provide shade and chairs for parents of students appearing for EAMCET at various centres in the city on Friday.
A press release said that they will arrange shamiyanas and provide drinking water at five exam centres with one help desk centre each at the railway and bus stations.
