The people meted out inhumane treatment, says former president of Samatha Party

Not even a single political party could came to the rescue of the Telugu people who have been “dissected” like a body during autopsy without the slightest of humanity by the Union Cabinet, said former national president of Samatha Party V.V. Krishna Rao.

Speaking on the 120-page report submitted to the Union Cabinet by the Group of Ministers (GOM) constituted for the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh at a press conference organised by the Krishna district Samaikyandhra Political JAC here on Friday Mr. Krishna Rao said there was at least one party safeguarding the interests of the other non-Hindi states formed on the basis of linguistic basis, but the same could not be said about the Telugus, the largest linguistic group after Hindi in the country.

Strong movement

He said that a strong movement should be developed all over the country to prevent the advent of separatism. The bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh was a blow to the federal structure and integrity of the nation. A fitting reply should be given to separatists who were a threat to the federal fabric of the country and a full-fledged nationalist movement was needed to counter separatist elements, Mr. Krishna Rao said.

He said that the GoM which was supposed to find solutions to 11 problems did not bother to do anything. The proposals put before the Union Cabinet were all half-baked and would be get stuck in legal quagmires they soon encounter. The Telugu Desam party should at least now shed its pluralist (two regions, two eyes) policy and come up with a clear stand. The Government Employees should also announce their future plan of action clearly.
