Many engineering students of various colleges proved that they were second to none in proving their talent in bodybuilding, weightlifting and power lifting competitions held in AITAM-Tekkali on Sunday and Monday.

Students from AITAM, GMRIT, Avanti, Raghu, Pragati and other engineering colleges under the jurisdiction of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU-Kakinda) participated in the competitions, according to AITAM director V.V. Nageswara Rao.

He said that the institution geared up to conduct university-level cricket selections on its premises.

JNTU sports council secretary J.Shyamkumar said that AITAM would be the permanent venue for the competitions to be held from next year onwards.

Students who would perform well in sports and games would get jobs easily under sports quota, said AITAM secretary V.V. Naidu. The winners were given away prizes in the valedictory held on Monday evening.
