A three-member All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) team will visit the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) Nuzvid IIIT campus and verify the facilities provided for the students.
The institute is offering two-year Pre-University Course (PUC) and B.Tech in computer sciences, electronics and communication, mechanical, civil, chemical and metallurgy engineering courses.
Speaking to The Hindu on Friday, IIIT Director Prof. Ibrahim Khan said that the expert committee comprising of a professor, one architect and a civil engineer will shortly inspect the teaching and accommodation facilities.
The AICTE officials will verify land records, labs, power supply, class rooms, internet facility, and sewage treatment plant, kitchens, canteens, hospital, library and other infrastructure provided for 6,000 students in the institution.
The management will show a Power Point Presentation to the team members on the ongoing development activities and on the achievements of the RGUKT IIIT students, said Prof. Khan.
Infrastructure
The IIIT Officer on Special Duty (OSD) G.R.K. Reddy said that the institute management has arranged three mineral water plants, 12 dining halls and six kitchens.
About 20 bores were dug and sewage treatment plant with 10 lakh litres capacity was installed on the 100-acre campus.
A 30-bedded hospital, bank, post office and a shopping mall has come up on the campus. The management has arranged eight physics and chemistry labs, 25 engineering labs and a mechanical workshop in the university, said Mr. Reddy.
The Director said that about 450 quarters had been constructed on the campus for the teaching and administrative staff. Five independent duplex houses, 40 three-bedded houses, 200 double-bed room flats and 150 single bed-room quarters have been constructed and the staff will be available round-the-clock for the students.
