Mild tension prevailed at Sub Collector’s office when police tried to obstruct the agents and depositors of the Vijayawada-based Agri Gold Projects Limited from entering the office. The staff and customers were here to submit a memorandum seeking justice and action against the company management.

Depositors and agents from different parts of the State and neighbouring Telangana, Odisa and Karnataka assembled at the PWD Grounds and wanted to take out a rally to Sub Collector’s office. Later, they also wanted to proceed towards the Agri Gold Projects Limited office at Labbipet.

But police obstructed them and heated arguments were exchanged with the protestors. A few of them were taken into preventive custody.

In the past agents and depositors had staged protests in front of the company offices for the delay in payment of their deposits. They urged the Government to take necessary steps in getting their deposits.
