Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) secretary Gokaraju Ganga Raju said that Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) which seized the accounts books has released them after the court's intervention. Speaking to the media persons here on Friday, Mr. Raju said that it was unfortunate that the ACB reacted to a complaint filed by an individual who was suspended by the association and seized the accounts on the eve of the association elections (July 14).
“However, we (ACA) represented our case in the court of law and got justice,” he pointed out.
Mr. Raju said that the ACB officials concentrated more on Kadapa Stadium works and funding of the ACA Women's Academy at Guntur. “All our transactions are transparent and we have a clean record on both the projects”.
He said that Andhra U-22 team that went on a three-week sojourn to Kenya returned with rich experience. “The Andhra girls winning the South Zone championship went on to prove that the exclusive academy at Guntur has really helped the girls to hone their skills in a determined manner.
Even National Cricket Academy (NCA) administrator Sandeep Patil, the former India international, hailed the facilities at the academy,” Mr. Raju added.
He congratulated exemplary performances of S. Meghana of Vijayawada who scored three centuries on a trot and also Sneha Deepthi of Vizag for notching up a double hundred in the recent tournaments.
The members of ACA condoled the untimely death of Ayazuddin, son of former Indian skipper Mohammad Azharuddin, who breathed his last five days after a road mishap.
ACA vice-president Ch. Arun Kumar, ACA director (cricket operations) M.S.K. Prasad and Central Zone secretary Koka Ramesh were present in the meeting.
